Overview
The Unison
®
Paradigm Wireless Access Station (P-LCD-WAS) connects to the
Paradigm lighting control network using LinkConnect and serves the Paradigm
Handheld Touchscreen as a wireless access point for MeshConnect communications.
Installation Requirements
The Wireless Access Station is supplied in multiple parts including the station
electronics with antenna, faceplate, and termination kit.
Install the Paradigm Wireless Access Station into a standard, flush mount, two gang
backbox (provided by others) or a two gang, surface mounted backbox, available from
ETC.
The Wireless Access Station wiring requirements include:
LinkConnect station bus using Belden 8471 or approved equal.
24Vdc Auxiliary Power using two 16 AWG (1.5 mm) wires
ESD ground using one 14 AWG (2.5 mm
2
) wire.
LinkConnect is topology free and polarity independent; you can install your LinkPower
data runs in any desired combination of bus, star, loop or home-run. ETC recommends
using Belden 8471 (or approved equal) wire. The total combined length of a LinkPower
wire run may not exceed 1,640 feet (500 m), with a maximum distance of 1,312 feet
(400 m) between any two devices.
All control and power wiring should be installed and terminated by a qualified installer
and should follow standard wiring installation practices. Leave approximately 10
inches (254 mm) of wiring in the backbox for connection and to allow slack for future
service needs.
Configuration Requirements
The Wireless Access Station must:
exist in LightDesigner and be associated by its Neuron ID to the
configuration
be set to the same HF Channel as the Handheld Touchscreen
be configured for use with the Handheld Touchscreen in LightDesigner
Note:
Reference the associated documentation for more configuration information:
LightDesigner online help system, Paradigm Architectural Control Processor
Configuration Manual and Unison Paradigm Handheld Touchscreen and
Wireless Accessories Configuration and User Manual.
